Clara is from Paul’s First Nation, Alberta(approximately 45 west of Edmonton), but has made Winnipeg her home and is proud to consider herself a Manitoba resident.  She is the oldest of 6 and always strives to be a good role model for her younger siblings and her peers. Clara has always had this nurturing instinct to help others be the best they can be and to help alleviate their problems, with such a positive energy. Clara has previously received numerous awards for attendance, hard work and honors in junior high. She is currently enrolled in all advanced classes for her upcoming year at grade 11/12 level. Clara hopes to attend the University of Manitoba and dreams to one day be a Pediatric Nurse. One of  Clara’s main ambitions are pow wow dancing. She has been a jingle dress dancer since the age of 2 and loves to travel across Canada and the U.S to partake in cultural events, as she believes it is important to embrace culture and the power of healing that comes with it.  Clara loves to cook, read, and play sports such as basketball and Hockey. She would also love to travel around the world and photograph mother nature’s beautiful landscapes, as she has a keen eye for nature. Clara has been a volunteer through the CSI summer student program through CEDA pathways and enjoys helping younger children see the rewards of getting a good solid education. She is also a pow wow dance instructor for youth through Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre in Winnipeg. Clara hopes that even being a delegate for Miss Teen Canada Globe, she will open the eyes of other young aboriginal girls, showing them that if you just believe in yourself, anything is possible.
