Erika is about to enter her second year as a nursing student at Western University. At school she is actively involved in the Nursing Students’ council as well as the University Students’ Council. Erika hopes to eventually build upon her education and enter medical school in order to become a neurosurgeon or gynecologist. In addition to academics, Erika is fluent in English, French, and Hungarian and is currently learning German and Russian. She is a first generation Canadian, who is very proud of her Hungarian and Filipino heritage, incorporating traditions and aspects from both cultures into her life. In her spare time, Erika is an avid dancer and painter. She also enjoys going on hikes, writing stories, and needlepoint embroidery. Erika is a firm believer that mental health is extremely important. Having seen loved ones struggle with mental health is why Erika chose to focus her philanthropy on mental health awareness. Her goal is to use her platform as a titleholder to fundraise for more, accessible services within her community, and to advocate for the reduction of stigma around mental health. Erika cites her main supporters as her boyfriend, her family, and her close friends. She feels that their love and support has been a blessing throughout her pageant journey, making her very excited to be part of the MCGP family. As a titleholder, she is hoping to be seen as a positive influence and role model for girls across the country. One of her favourite quotes is: “Be like a pineapple: stand tall, be sweet on the inside, and proudly wear that crown on your head.”
