Tati is a young, indigenous Inuk born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and raised in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut where She has completed grade eight and is an honor roll student that will be taking academic grade nine classes at Maani Ulujuk Ilinniarvik this coming fall. In the last three years, Tati showcased her volunteering for her community. Along with a group of teenage students, Tati helped organize a winter clothing drive for the needy in Rankin Inlet. She saw this as a need due to their extreme temperatures. As a result the drive was successful providing help to one hundred and twenty families. This drive was a group effort of young teenage students that saw the need in their community. Volleyball is another passion for Tati. She is a great athlete and loves the sport, she has made the high school team for the last two years and has traveled to Yellowknife, NT and Iqaluit, NU for tournaments. Combining both her love for the sport and her love to enjoy it with others, she volunteered to be an instructor for a children’s volleyball camp where she taught children the basics of volleyball. Tati has held a part time job since the age of eleven working in her Aunt’s catering business. Even before starting to work she would always be helping with the business volunteering to help serve breakfast, lunch, and supper to the travelling sports teams, coaches, and officials. She loves to spend time with her Family; she has two brothers and ton of cousins. Family time involves being out on the land fishing, hunting and relaxing at the cabin. Tati has also started to get her feet wet with photography a new hobby that seems to spark her interest.
